For some of my works, I literally couldn’t sleep/eat/interact until they were finished. My approach to painting remains childish, as I try to put the least filters on at sketching stage, retracing the lines I see on the white canvas and finding a meaning later on

SAME! I love tracing. Tracing is so efficient and helps you learn (if you’re doing it w/ the right mindset ofc!!) and the weird internet paranoia with tracing just makes me wanna scream sometimes. Here’s pieces I’ve done it in before but like honestly 70%+ of my work has SOME !!

Then I start coloring. The basic process I do is simple, I start with a single flat color on everything before going into specifics. That allows me to use alpha lock to not have to keep retracing the outline. Once that’s done I’ll start rendering.
