Nobody ever appreciates when I do little specks of light coming through the trees. That's the kind of attention to detail you just don't get in weekly funny comics like Garfield. This joke, like many others, could definitely use some tweaking after seeing how people interpret it.

The Valley of Repose from Pikmin 2 is actually a crosswalk. It’s hard to tell in game, but when zoomed out you can clearly see the path makings and the manhole cover. And the shadows covering it are from trees and a telephone pole.
