Yup, that's about it. Before the comic, Denny O'Neil wrote a Richard Dragon novel under a pseudonym that then got adapted to the comic. In it, Richard was white, but producer Bruce Timm said that they changed him to look like Bruce Lee in the movie based off the novel's cover.
