I implemented the Kuwahara filter in using compositor nodes. It's a little slow but Kuwahara can run in real time as a Still, if you're looking for that broken color, impressionist look, Kuwahara is a great technique.

mmkay, so colors. the 'green' is a gold color, which contrasts the blues well. complimentary colors make some amazing palettes, just make sure the values are different. so this is just yellow-orange and blue. those are basically the only 2 colors i used

These are kind of all over the place, but an interesting experiment in coloring on top of grayscale nonetheless. I generally prefer working directly in color, but I think my favorite here has got to be the nighttime one 🙂

Day 26: ???. This started as a transparent watercolor, it didn’t work so I started to add opaque layers with gouache. It still didn’t. I grew frustrated with it and decided to rub it out and abandon it but it suddenly made sense after that
