Old ref for comparison! My main goals were to make the face less flat and to find a different approach to suit shininess. I also ended up streamlining a couple things. Overall this coloring is heavier on gradients and lighter on painting, smudging and reflections/lens flare.

I kept both Mirran Crusader and Phyrexian Crusader up on the screen next to each other, bouncing back and forth to work on them simultaneously. The idea was that they are opposite reflections of each other.
