パンの製法を学ぶため長崎に留学していた柴田方庵が、安政2年2月28日(新暦：1855年4月14日)、同藩の萩信之助宛にビスケットの製法を記した日本初の文書とされている「パン・ビスコイト製法書」を送付したことにちなんで、全国ビスケット協会が記念日に制定しました。

♪( ´▽｀)2月28日はビスケットの日。1855年、オランダ人が多く滞在していた長崎に、水戸藩の藩士がパンの製法を学ぶ為に留学していました。そこでビスケットの作り方も学び、「パン・ビスコイト製法書」という本を水戸に送った日なんです。納豆で有名な水戸に意外な歴史ありですね〜
