It took me some time, but I went ahead and drew Cloud Strife. It was supposed to celebrate his remake design, but I ended up putting together elements of many, from the blocky PS1 model to the edgy KH variant. Is that lazy? Maybe. I should try again soon.

From then on I went to thumbnailing the composition. I've already thought about this a fair bit so I already know what kind of composition I want so I just blocked it in with some colors. Eventually ended up with a circular and sharp portal instead of a blocky stone hedge portal.
