2002's Dark Water is a somber story about a recently divorced woman and her daughter dealing with the ghost of a child; its a really subtle horror film, and the mother daughter relationship is the highlight!

I wanted to end on a somber note. Halply's core conflict still isn't resolved. Her faith was shaken by her confrontation with Yhorm, whose faith and complacency led to his destruction. But I still didn't know if the story would continue.
