ZttP once again went ninja-ing in the midday sun and tried to open many doors in The Ninja's Quest for Keys...Sorry, Avenger. Kwon was unhappy with our lack of lockpicking skills. Ep44 out now!

Cybernoid 1 & 2

Hewson 1988

The Cybernoid games are tough-but-worth-it flick-screen shooters. Graphics are fantastic, music is stunning & the games themselves are brilliantly designed & immensely playable. Another ace blaster from Hewson.

Thalamus 1986

The first Thalamus release was a serious statement. Ace Oli Frey artwork, superb Rob Hubbard loading music, brilliant graphics & stunningly executed by legend to be Stavros Fasoulas. A very slick package.

The .crt for Ultima V, being on cartridge, has almost no discernible loading delays, and no disk swaps. (IMHO that alone is worth it.) 😁 But also the music is now present in C64 mode. Previously you have to have a C128 to play with music. 🤔 I think that's all. Not much changed.

We saw Mario C64 and jaws dropped. Naturally it's the other guy's turn:

"First game exclusively designed for the REU." Very cool! Hopefully it'll harness the C128's 2Mhz, too. But early tests look and sound great (albeit slow because recorded in PAL).

Fab *NEW* demo from ARTSTATE just released. "For the love of Ben", a homage to the works of the much missed musician Ben Daglish, featuring beautiful SID convertions.

It was an honour to make some scroll-text for this production.

I have on Amiga Ultima's III, IV, V, and VI (The False Prophet — which was the one game I freely admit was *not* good on the C64.) So I think I'll play trough Ultima VI on the virtual Amiga. For the rest, I should visit them on DOS one of these days. Still. No rush though, eh? 😁

My friend, Motion/Artstate has just released a cool little SID music collection for the called 'For the Love of Ben!' to celebrate the works of the late Ben Daglish. It needs KS2.0+. Grab from DemoZoo: https://t.co/zUcVt5bRYN

Firebird 1988

Thanks to for the reminder about this. Gorgeous graphics from the incredibly talented Bob Stevenson elevate this well-crafted but dead hard shooter above the crowd of horizontally scrolling C64 blasters.
