Compare that photo to Yusuke Kozaki's beautiful portraits for No More Heroes 1&2 (2007 & 2010). The foot sits like a visual anchor in the photo. But in the NMH illustrations the exaggerated perspective leads your eye smoothly across the entire composition.

Here’s an example: first I script the page then thumbnail it. My sketches are just to show camera angles & basic composition. I leave it sketchy cuz Matt will make it come to life, then color (atmosphere), then dialogue. Edits to this rough cut will inform the final version ☮️👍

I'm not Spider-Man in real life, but I did play him a few times for illustration reference. This study is unfinished, but I love the composition. I modeled my hands for Venom, but winged the rest. Colored pencil on black paper. 2014. 8"x10".
