Early last year, I began to feel detached from Butterfly. I no longer wanted to have that association of my sona being previously female. I had gone through so much in my life with that fursona, but I wanted a fresh start. On January 16th, 2017, Sammy McLain was created.
However, I still wanted Butterfly to be my fursona. I had worked so hard on developing her, and I didn’t want her to go away despite my growing discomfort with identifying as female. Butterfly became more androgynous at this time, and eventually I changed the character to male.
The main character Quenelda, has a very appealing attitude. She’s entertaining, passionate, and kind of a rebel. Definitely not the stereotypical kind of privileged female.

I’ve felt unqualified to say I’m bisexual because I’m engaged to a man and I’ve never been in love with a female. But I realized straight males don’t need qualifiers like experience in order to say they’re hetero. It seems to be a touchy subject online but here I am. Happy pride!
