While I've never charged 200 bucks for my commishes, my highest is like 15 bucks a character. Butch Hartman's 200 dollar work is an enigma.. Now I can't tell if i should be charging way more for mine or not. right ones are personal ones too, so no $ off it
I don’t believe I ever did a $200 commission, but I’ve sold prints at cons that gave me over $200
And yeah, fuck Butch #my200vsbutch200
#my200vsbutch200 These aren't all commission, but I'd never imagine charging someone over $200, the highest ill ever charge is $50🗿.
#my200vsbutch200 I don't feel confident in my art enough to take $200 comms but having some kind of technical skill is always better than this thing that looks like it took 5 minutes
i do not charge for my art and have never made a cent off of it in the ~decade I've been doing it and I still put more care and time into my work than Butch Hartman, an animation industry veteran charging $200 for his commissions ☺️ #my200vsbutch200
#my200vsbutch200 i dont even have $200 comms open !!! you can get something like 2 & 3 for only $30-$60 !!!
#my200vsbutch200 Pretty sure I would never charge 200$ for an art piece, just as I would never trace a drawing.
#my200vsbutch200 any of these pieces would cost $100 or less. The most expensive is the first piece, a custom that came with two seperate ref sheets, and the commissioner ended up paying $100 for everything.
Help me pay my bills:

#my200vsbutch200 Well, less than $200, but still...
I don't know that I've ever actually charged more than $100 for a single character but wow, this man just continues to be an ugly stain in the art community. These are some pieces I put probably 8+ hours into each c: #my200vsbutch200
