I think the expectation to have a consistent art style can be borderline crippling tbh. Trying new things is the best way for you to learn. It's half the reason I redraw old art tbh, so I can directly see my growth and changes.

I notice some artists draw Kris’s cape with those blues stripes. I personally always read them as shading in the folds, or a reflective sheen because they’re not consistent. But I can see stripes too.
