It's hard to say which of these 31 tips is the most fundamental, but this one is in the running, for sure. For me, making everything "readable" is job as an illustrator. And beefing up the contrast is almost always a key part of how that is achieved.

I think my main issue with the older design is how it's almost never been translated into 3D well at all, the low poly PS1 models look fine, but stuff like Wrath of Cortex and ESPECIALLY N-Sane show to me that you REALLY need to take care putting this model in 3D
