Mappa also falls short almost every episode. Scenes taking place indoors, and in daylight often look off.

The visuals are stale, the individual colors don't "pop" and its ultimately detrimental to the character art and mood of the scenes (+)

Y’know, I liked the Cuphead show it just didn’t go how I expected. I thought it was gonna be about them working for the devil and getting the souls for him like the game rather than the characters just having cameo’s and short scenes. Still a good show though

You do realize that Dragon Ball originally looked like this. As Toriyama changed his style so did the anime. Shintani is using the early Z artstyle for lighthearted scenes and the Buu saga style for fight scenes which makes total sense.

One of my art resolutions for the year was to improve my comic workflow and I've had to stop being a prideful caveman and embrace tools that can help with accuracy. Incorporating 3D has been a learning curve but its been very helpful in imagining scenes and lighting!
