Using elements of old ornate Spanish armor for Kurt’s coil suit was a really nice touch that gave us a more elegant/charming protagonist design. Though most of these details did not make it into the in final game.

So when I started designing elements inside of the Citadel. I figured that the act 2 could take place inside of it entirely but here were some elements of that when it was all one act.

Another stage that had some massive changes was Frosty Citadel Act 1. It was one of the first stages I designed but I ended up liking the feel of Act 2 more so I tried to incorporate elements into act 1 from 2.

Act 1 is outside of the citadel. Celeste heavily inspired this zone.
