Mission mode looks a bit jarring as there are random crates everywhere. People say it reminds them of sonic forces and tbh I agree. The best way to keep the play immersed in the level and mission is to alter the level layout
There needs to be tons more customization, such as lives in anniversary mode or choosing what badniks and animations appear on the menu islands. Even something as minimal as sprite swaps would go a long way.
