I usually like to reference the manga, but I honestly prefer the anime style of lightning. The manga makes the sparks wider and more cartoony, while the anime has a somewhat more realistic approach and makes thin arcs or electricity which I think looks cooler (like in this pic)

this is my personal opinion, but i really miss the style from parts 3-5 ish. i really liked how expressive and sometimes very cartoony and flashy the style looked, but i also know that might not be what araki is intending to go for in his artwork, and thats understandable.
