This is def owed to Senri Kita's art. A very fluffy bang but not outright defying gravity. The eyes have that glassy 90s shading but not quite. Curvy but still a willowy body type. Her hair's long and expressive but not quite the billowing curtain. I'm fascinated by it

Obviously, it's rad to see Mario characters be so expressive and detailed without any design aspects being compromised for the big screen but the Nintendo fan in me really appreciates how it's expanding on lore stuff instead of ignoring it. Pretty good first impression!
