Thumbnail studies for upcoming pieces. This little exercise helped me a lot on simplifying my process which looks a bit like this;
1) shapes of light and dark (2-3 max)
2) middle tones of each plane
3) high chroma colors, opaque lights, softening and hardening edges

I mean simplifying it all down to silhouettes, it's like super blatant that the second one is an iteration of the first. The main difference is the addition of the ahoge and removal of the ear things, everything else is just slightly translating the elements into something else

I gave it a shot, I tried simplifying it and keeping spots mostly around the head/chest/fins. I'm not sure how you feel about gradients especially if you're keeping it fursuit-friendly but yeah dslkgja

- Do it for you. To explore tastes, strenghts, weaknesses etc. Ignore likes
- Keep it doable. If it's hard, simplify
- Do it in ur time, 1/day is just an average
