psst

they're actually not that bad 😶

the movies may differ from the manga (per Hajime Isayama's request), but in plenty of ways they stay true to its core essence, while also being unique, and paying homage to the media that inspired it, being classic tokusatsu and kaiju eiga.

And hey, if you can't handle the thought of living your life without reading something tokusatsu-inspired written by me, then make sure you check out INFERNO GIRL RED, coming from Image Comics later this year!

Holy shit wait

The reason why Spider-Man has Maximum Spider which is ostensibly a Rider Kick is because a) Spider sounds like Rider and b) Tokusatsu Spider-Man helped inspire some later elements of Kamen Rider

It was Capcom respecting Spidey's position as a early Rider. Woah.

I like this set. Closer to the spirit of what I’m trying to explore this month in terms of creature design. Channeling some Pokémon and tokusatsu vibes.

There were two movies from 2015, and despite what people say, the films are actually quite solid. They're different, but they stay true to the manga's spirit, while also being an homage to what inspired it, being classic tokusatsu and kaiju eiga.
