Back then I never really used thumbnail sketches to help lay out my pieces into a pleasing composition. I was also trying to work traditionally with materials that didn’t quite work with the style I was trying to emulate and meld into my own.

An idea I had about taking my interest in old machinery and forests and combing them. Exploring the thought of machines taking energy/resources/something from the forest (or vice versa)? Couldn’t help but see it in a dark and almost scary composition.
