It looks like they edited the artwork tbh. With how much hatching is there there's no way a scanner would miss so much to the point of making it a literal black void. Seems like someone went in and literally filled in the lines themselves but idk 🤔

I found a printer/scanner near a side door/stairs at my dorm and decided to take it, since there was no sign saying not to lol. The scanner works great, so I'm very happy. :3

I found a way to fix the colors on my Glowing Stefania drawing. The scanner gets the skin tones all red for some reason. Now it looks more like the original piece.
