I used to be a 30-100 layer artist back in 2009-2013, but eventually embraced limitations as it makes for more seamless digital painting. Because Procreate limits layers dramatically on my iPad mini, I’ve learned to use 12 layers at most, 3-4 on average.

Still experimenting with the coloured inks. They're a bit more fiddly to mix and prepare so I'm just using very limited colours. I don't see them replacing my good old watercolours for that reason. The layers won't lift when dry though so that might be useful for some folk!
