the first half was so enjoyable & the whale's appearance was so amazing!! Although several plot lines are blended rather haphazardly & confusingly, the storyline is also clichéd as hell. But I'm amazed when checking the list of seiyu 👁👄👁

i dont know if mine counts as a simplified style but i just take the defining shapes of features and use that (like only drawing the nostrils and top line of the nose, pupil and eyelid for eyes, etc.)
think in shapes rather than details
