Sort of a big picture read I think, if you squint. The spoiled angle is a big one that doesn't line up, but the whole 'little pain now for big gains later' mentality, brutal functionalism and doing it behind the backs of his friends is a parallel. But no not perfect 1:1

When drawing a rough, I easily use the mesh deformation function of Clip Studio to check if the shape collapses when the model is turned diagonally. (Like this)
