evolved form of that Cubone with the blue scarf I posted a bit ago. He doesn’t have a name yet, but he evolves into alolan Marowak. This was pretty loose and fun for a painting, I might try more in this style. Pokémon make it very easy to practice like this!

So years back, I made these 2 characters for my OC story and currently I'm planning on redesigning/translating them into my new current art style.
In fact I drew up a potential redesign (I also drew Stereo from Space Goofs and Simon from Cry of Fear.
Late, but I decided to make a few Jennika sprites in the #ShreddersRevenge style. 2 in her comc look and one in a hypothetical 80's look. #pixelart

@GoblinaJones The animation was drawn on Cels with fountain pens. Later photocopying (xeroxing) became a cost-cutting method.
Finally, markers were used for contouring which is more common and easy to use than fountain pens.
Now when it's digital it's mostly art style.
I wish that Natsume could make another game like Gundam Wing Endless Duel, but with as many Mobile Suits as possible.
The closest thing to this idea is the Battle Assault series that they also had a hand in making, but there was something more charming about the SNES art style.

@JohnDaviesIndo There was definitely something cool about Rolling Thunder when it came out. I don't think I'd seen an arcade game before that had this impressive 'anime' art style. The way dead enemies melted away was also a nice touch.

Depends on the artist and how realistic you want your style to be.
As a cartoon artist, I don't need them all the time, most of my art's freestyle.
I use refs for when I'm trying something new or looking for inspiration or wanna have actual good shading for once lol
