I enjoy making fan ocs, but a lot of the times I'll end up making whole stories based off one design, and then I start thinking of the world they live in and the character interactions and then I start filling the gaps

When I was younger, I was self concious of having a gap in my front teeth because it was commonly portrayed as gross or a sign of unintelligence, even though it's perfectly normal. It was thanks to seeing characters with teeth gaps that I was later able to accept and love my gap.

This is Varaneous, lead guardian of a group of islands in another dimension. A very territorial fire and water monitor lizard! Very hot blue embers emit from its back. It can close off the gaps on its back to swim underwater while the embers will continue to burn inside!
