i actually do use something related for lighting, as one of the components! it checks for convexity at a few scales and blends it into the mix. left is a mix with greater emphasis on that- it's a bit like lighting on an overcast day. right same scene, with directional emphasized.

God if only my tummy was 450 pounds perfectly round and I was a 5ft tall kobold with ambiguous gender with onyx scales and yellow eyes/highlights and I became this way from being trapped in a cave and forced to eat a funny rock that transformed me and also made me a sorcerer :)))

I decided to remake the token for my newest d&d character, Ven. He’s a homebrew arctic fox race that I wrote and he’s a draconic bloodline sorcerer (with a very obvious ice-y theme) I really like the effect of the patches of scales under his fur.
