El nombre «Jesús» solía evitarse en juegos de Pokémon (y de Nintendo) por «connotaciones religiosas». Perla y Diamante rompieron ese estigma al usar el nombre para un entrenador (Camarero Jesús, en la Torre Batalla) al considerar que es un nombre muy común en España.
