Goblin slayer is probably one of the dark fantasy series that have the most "sensitive" use of SA, but the anime and manga made it more graphic than it was in the LN. While the reactions to the manga and anime where still too much, the novel never describes any scenes.

in a sense, these scenes perfectly set the mood for the rest of the flashback, and while the effect is slightly different than the one from the LN, the anime format kinda requires this dif approach

now that I see where they were going, my complaints about the prologue are gone

Started Reign of the Seven Spellblades and finished Volume 1
It is probably the best volume 1 I've read for a LN, the last chapter dropped a major shocker, volume 1's central theme somewhat reminds me of Hermione campaigning for better treatment of elves in Harry Potter.
