@JayBluedude I draw out a blob, erase around it and use the smudge/blur tool to make a specific splatter shape, then i add darker shades and shine if it needs it
that's generally how i do it and it's easy to experiment when i do it like this.

Warm up from this morning. This is the "UGLY" stage of a painting. At this point I'm still figuring out everything, tonal range, form, shape, color....if you quit here...you will never finish a painting.
