So I tried experimenting with detailed eyes and soft shading. What you guys think?

I then basically do the same thing (but without the second add(glow) layer) to add blue highlights on the top

the second image is the color that I use on the add(glow) layer. This color changes quite a bit depending on the color of the hair you're shading.

I also use something I call 'contrast shading' a lot when shading. This is when you shade something and then go back and darken the edge where the dark part of the hair meets the light part.

I then go into the 'fine shading. Here I am more agressive with dark/light shading. I add shading to the ends of the bangs and the top of the hair

Ok, so my style of shading uses a paintbrush without pen pressured brush size. In order to control the width of the brush, I use shortcuts to make the brush smaller/larger.

First thing I do is paint a large, very light wash of shading everywhere except the highlighted area
