A major pet peeve of mine regarding character designs is when a character is just an uninspiring clone of their parent or vice versa. No, an outfit, hairstyle, or eye color difference doesn't fix the ctrl + v issue.
A glaring, soul-irking example of this to me is in Archie Sonic.
