I wanted the music notation to glow, so there are several layers, each set to lighten, with a gradually lighter fill from dark blue through 100% cyan all the way to white--and then each layer is gaussian blurred less-and-less as it gets lighter. The white layer isn't blurred.

Scan and cleanup. Using red or blue ink for the wash gives me an advantage here, allowing me to separate the lineart and the inkwash into different layers, giving me more control over these separate elements. If I used only black ink, it'd be more difficult to adjust all around.

Okay so I followed a tutorial for doing colored lines and it worked great until it didn't and I've realized I needed to do more things in more layers, live and learn ig I'm so tired I might fix this or just finish it lineless stay tuned lol at least she still looks pretty

I really miss my old style of drawing, I think they had a much cleaner look with light and shade and color. And now I always like to go and add too many colors and layers, I actually don't like that, but it's hard to change.

Baima’s tattoo. Tried new techniques: 1. instead of doing separate sketch, pencil, and ink layers, just did a single pencil sketch and cleaned it up; 2. gradient map on b&w instead of manual coloring. both worked well & will be great timesavers when I start drawing comic pages 😊
