I found myself returning to Black Company and Myth The Fallen Lord franchise, and felt like doing some practice in "gritty medieval realism", whatever the hell that suppose to mean anyway... From 25x41 all the way through 50x82 and finally 74x123.

whatever works! I like my objects chunky. if you're going for more dark/ gritty/ realistic, check out how isometric games do it, both pixelart and high-res/ 3D. Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Bastion, X-com etc

Personally I would like an adaptation of Superman Vs The Elite. A new group of young Ultra Violent Vigilantes take the law to their own hands stating that Superman’s way is outdated and a Childish dream. It’s a great story about hope and compassion vs Grim and Gritty.
