As I'm sitting here with six hours of work on the next page, (and it's still a ways off from being done,) I've decided it's in my best interest for both my sanity and for this project that I simplify some things.

If you are keen on some in depth study a book I highly recommend is "Bird Anatomy for Artists" by Natalia Balo. It's really fantastic at breaking down the structure underneath.

I also found a good exercise for learning about simplifying feathers was to trace my own photos. :)
