Drawing something for big ol' Rudimer right now, so I went through some older stuff with him.

His helmet changed from scary iron masked bastard to clunky 'n blocky goofball and I don't quite know if that's a good thing or not.

Made as an inside joke between one of my friends, who uses Blocky (Cosmic Break) as their profile picture.

Thank you!! The blocky style is fun. Probably inspired by some of the abstract art I used to do. I should use this style more often 🤔

I used to use it all the time:

It’s that blocky fuck

Guys I’m not kidding, is hard, and delicate work with consistent AA and selective outlining is wayyyyy harder that the blocky, painterly stuff I’ve been doing the last few years.

How did anyone in the Deviantart doll scene survive the early 2000’s without wrist surgery

I do! I tended to go for blocky colour over smooth rendering but realism nonetheless I guess (old piece from 6/7 years ago)

something different, but i used to draw mcyt like this all the time when i was younger! i dont really see people doing this blocky style anymore, at least as often as they did in old gen mcyt haha
i think it looks cool though :]

I had so much fun drawing this! I used a more rigid and blocky style once again and I’m starting to enjoy it!

I think started this year embracing a much more painterly style and as I went started gravitating to a more comic style, with thicker outlines and blocky definitions of light and shadow.

Now, is it better? THAT'S the question. (I think it's kinda neat lol)
