Nopcsa's 1922 reconstruction of Tribelesodon longobardicus as a basal pterosaur
Hey, hey, it's time for yet another #NonDinosaurOfTheWeek!
Today'S NDofW is... Azhdarchidae!
Some species of this pterosaur group were one of the biggest flying creatures to ever exist! Their wingspan could achieve around 10 meters!
Spending my day working on a #paleoart commission of darwinopteran pterosaurs - critters like Darwinopterus, Kunpengopterus, and Cuspicephalus (below). These are fun animals to draw thanks to having all the best bits of pterosaur anatomy: big heads, big crests, and long tails.

For #FossilFriday, some #paleoart from 2016: the azhdarchid that would eventually become Cryodrakon is scavenged by a variety of dinosaurs and pterosaurs. I should do top-down views more often, they're fun to execute and interesting to look at.
This a pretty cool pterosaur! Welcome to Kariridraco dianae by Cerqueira et al. in: "A new azhdarchoid pterosaur from the Lower #Cretaceous of #Brazil and the paleobiogeography of the Tapejaridae" - https://t.co/i75nq7uKvc

Novo pterossauro brasileiro! demos as boas vindas a Kariridraco dianae! https://t.co/jHwpaCD3ZK @FeliPinheir
With the focus on Ubirajara lately, I think it's a good time to point out that the AMNH has a large collection of Brazilian fossils that were acquired illegally. It includes pterosaurs like this Anhanguera sp. (AMNH 22555) as well as a multitude of fishes and invertebrates.

I must congratulate @WryCritic for their publication with @SteveBrusatte in Current Biology. An excellent, well-illustrated review of pterosaur biology. It's sort of the whole package.
well. due to convenience of the currently trending tags, have a #HelluvaBoss pterosaur
