I usually like maintaining the original art in there, but I played around a bit out of curiosity and there isn't a great way to get the full original aspect ratio in there without extending it out and the piece fits so wonderfully as is. Just for fun I tried an extending it a bit

Playing around with a slightly different aspect ratio (added 40 pixels to the width): Increases the map size to 13 x 13 tiles (vs 11 x 11 tiles) & allows me to display the party graphically and do stuff like adding animated portraits.
