The Gates had to be MASSIVE and noteworthy, and I wanted them to feel like they connected two Worlds.
The lightning didn't make the cut at the end, but instead, I brought in some light to the lines to make it look very "Ethereal" and show a new World on the other side.
My approach was to let colors collide and with that create depth, instead of making a strong linework, but having the most important part be contrasting with that organic feeling.
