I'll always firmly assert that animation is *not* a genre. Just like live action, it's an art medium used for storytelling. You can have a comedic animation, or a dramatic animation... but you can't have an animated animation. That's just silly... and redundant.

Animation shouldn't be considered a kids thing, Its a Visual Medium that can express the vibrant imagination of a Creator, In ways that could never be done in Live Action and can be viewed by any demographic.

It is and always has been and always will be.
Not a genre, but a medium.
Family friendly doesn't mean kids only.
So long as you can animate it, you can do anything:
Show push visual limits, teach life lessons, show perspective, even change the world.

And considering there is still so much cheap CGI films being released, that perception won't change any time soon. The best we can do until the death of capitalism is just uphold the good animated products with passion behind them and keep appreciation for the medium alive

Everyone can benefit from seeing loving, healthy relationships depicted on screen, no matter who they love. Life, and especially love, is messy, and animation allows this to be depicted in a visual medium that can relate to anyone, no matter what age.
