Yep. that's right.... All good guys! There was no "The Other" in this franchise originally. Grody poo monster? You better believe they're sacrificing themselves to save the kids. Xenomorph whale? Well damn, sounds like Rodney Dangerfield, ALSO helps the kids.

Seriously though, I know a lot of queer people love monsters, and Digimon is one of the big monstery things I grew up with as a kid.
It meant a bucket load to me that this gnarly Giger inspired beetle was a GOOD GUY.
Any other franchise would waste this design on a villain!

The first appearance of a whale in the Mario franchise is in SMB2, where they act as ground below otherwise dangerous jumps. The occasional water spouts can be used to gain height. They're not exactly harmful enemies, but it's not like they're trying to help out.

To be honest, i am more upset for the people losing their jobs in Blue Sky rather than the films because, the company had 13 films which 7 of them are from Ice Age and Rio, the only franchises the company had with the other 6 were either original work or based off a existing IP.
