To finish out my process, I do a polish pass that involves fine tuning the colors and lighting and adding in the final details.

My first render pass is all about getting color on the page. I approximate lighting during this time, but mostly I just want to transfer the piece to painting so I have a base to build off of in the next stages.

More #midjourneyAI... The more references you give it, the more it appears to mine them for source material. For these I typed paragraphs filled with specifics setups, artists and moods, and lighting cues. Zooming in, the details are still dreamlike and nonsensical, but still...
