To me, Tellius Fire Emblem armors were peak design. Titania still looks fantastic and "practical" for a cavalry unit, sans lacking head gear. Other classes were more showy, but they all fit for a medieval fantasy game.

Compare Bulbasaur's evolution line compared to Incineroar.
Bulbasaur's feels cohesive, like a natural growth, building off of the previous evo's design.
Incin's change is jarring.

These are Fire/Grass Types, Plamp and Forgalant
Forgalant was actually created when I was asking for ideas for more Fakémon, and my brother used a random word generator to come up with Forge Houseplant.
Plamp also got a pretty severe redesign.
