This thought was partially brought about by a particular example, the Factory Building in Long Island City, NYC. In the now-long history of gentrification, it fits within that early-mid portion when there was still some impetus to make it 'artsy' (mid 1990s).
Honestly, I had put off watching it as I’m sometimes recommend things that are homage to 80s type films, eg: “Stranger Things.” I’m kind of not particularly interested in those things.
Even the Netflix promo poster to this made it looked like an 80s homage thing.
