I really love this stage in painting where I just splash colors on the sketch to figure out what kinda atmosphere I'm going with
Also lately I've taken to liking drawing chests and shoulders, it's shape is very comforting. And legs are fun too

Tip about edges in painting! Edges are closely related to value. Notice here how the soft edge of the shadow on the sphere is simply a slow gradient of value. This slow change of value tells us that the sphere is round, but it also appears as an abstract shape with a soft edge.

I'm kinda interested in it, Dark Horse put out a TPB back in 2006, probably long out of print, and at least the art for the Mummy comic does get the atmosphere right.

These past couple months, my lighting and atmosphere skills have improved a lot. and my proportions/anatomy are much better too!
I've taken lots of mental notes from artists I admire.

Now, once I get better at figures and poses (ETA: 2-4mth) then I'll be set!
