I will say tho, I like to think of her as my canvas for trying out certain little things. She's very recognizable no matter how I draw her, which makes it easier to stretch my style and create other characters with details I might not keep on her but still like.

Class demo - HD'ing the Mech from FFVI. I showed students how to find forms using side profile sketches, which are easier to draw, then "skewing" that side view in PS and extruding it into 3D, thus preserving the proportions. It's a fast process; useful in early phases of design.

Sometimes I think if it would've been easier, if the love interest were girls instead of guys. I'm pretty sure it would've been ,but that's what make the final decision more interesting. You'll improve the most from what you're not comfortable with/used too.
