found this brush and i rly liked the texture of it so i did this quick lil thing!
also, i tried drawing everything in one layer and that was fun ! i'll definitely try it out again
(i love drawing the safehouse cabin so much)
That's just the base. Each panel is a separate layer, and over each one, I add texture and then detailing and highlights, like I did on the lower part and the cannon arm of the mecha.
It's a long process, but as you see, it's a very practical way to paint a mechanical object!
This is the texture for that goofy Lily Hops 3D model texturing test I did. I am sharing this, because I think it looks very funny.
@smugzuck That's... ...not how clipping works. Unless the legs are modelled in a weird way to have bumps evenly spaced out, that's textured ripped jeans. Clipping would work more like this.

the BGs are 3D with some minor color correction and a paper texture thrown on top
i tried to doodle em but i realised their textures are very difficult 🤢🤮 im talking water-like, porcelain, paint and gold, not to mention other textures i have no idea things should be, no thanks
