And lastly we have Takeda Ayasaburo. He studied Rangaku (Dutch studies/western sciences) and designed the Goryokaku star fort in Hakodate in 1855. The fort is one of only two star fortresses in Japan, and is well known as the site of the last battle of the Boshin War.
